GLR- Glass Lined Reactor are widely used instead of borosilicate glass make reactors specially when scale of operation is quite high and relatively high pressure steam is to be used as heating media. Some other assemblies like Simple Distillation Unit, Reactive Distillation Unit, Fractional Distillation Unit etc. are installed in above space of glass lined reactors. The main features of these assemblies remain the similar but borosilicate glass make Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is preferred due to high scale of operation. A standard and typical fractional reactive distillation unit type assembly over GLR is shown. This type of assembly can be categorized into various sections.

3. Bromine Recovery Plant
Bromine is a member of the halogen family and is a heavy, dark-red liquid. It is much less common and more expensive than chlorine. Generally in sea water the bromine occurs in concentration of 60 to 70 ppm. It is also manufactured from natural brines, where its concentration may be high as 1300 ppm.
Today day by day the use of Bromine Liquid Chemical in various industries make demand for the production bromine liquid chemical plants in each Industry. Raw Materials for this plant are sea-bittern ( Brine )/ NaBr / KBr , Chlorine gas and 30% HCl. The product liquid bromine chemical has high purity and has wide use especially in the pharmaceutical industry.
About 60 percent of the produced bromine is used in the manufacture of ethylene dibromide for antiknock fluids.

4. Decantor Separator
Decantation is a basic process of separation of two immiscible liquids which have been different densities relatively to each other. When these two kind of liquids are allowed to settle, two distinct layers are generated. Heavier phase at bottom and lighter phase at top.This kind of equipment is most suitable for continuous decantation process. This kind of decantor equipment provides continuous separation, visual monitoring and ensures separation even after feeding is stopped. This kind of equipment is provided with adjustable overflow valve to adjust the position of interface. Standard nominal capacity for this equipment is 20 L, 50 L, 100 L and 200 L.

5. Double Window Type Sight Glass

Sight glass is basically known as sight flow indicator in various industries. Sight glass is a device used to check the inline flow of various fluids. Sight glass enables observation of flow of liquid through pipelines which are generally nontransparent. This equipment can be used in both horizontal pipelines as well as verticals. Standard available sizes in the form of diameters range from 15 mm to 150 mm. In Double window sight glass two toughed glasses are mounted opposite to each other. It is available in various range of thickness and diameter of glass to suit various industrial applications.

6.  Fractional Distillation Unit

It is a batch type fractional distillation unit in which the re-boiler which consists of a boro-silicate glass vessel mounted in a heating bath and with a boro-silicate glass packed column above. The vapours at top are condensed and can be refluxed as per requirements.

The condensed liquid in product form is sub-cooled and collected in the receivers. The bottom product is finally drained from the reboiler through a drain valve.

The whole unit available in the glass vessels with sizes of 10 L, 20 L, 50 L, 100 L, 200 L and 300 L.

7. Gas Absorber Falling Film Type
The efficient gas absorption is achieved in a falling film type gas absorber which is essentially a shell and tube heat exchanger in which both, gas to be absorbed and absorbing liquid, heat exchanger in which both, gas to be absorbed and absorbing liquid, flows co-currently downward with extraction of heat by circulation of coolant in the shell. The absorbing liquid is circulated through a tank till desired concentration is achieved. The various standard HTA available are 1,1.76, 4.8, 7.8, 15.30, 36, 47 and 84 m2.

8. Glass Immersion Heat Exchanger

Borosilicate glass make immersion heat exchanger is widely used to control the exothermic reactions in glass vessels.In most of the applications, cooling water generally used in the coils, but they can also be used with low pressure steam. In the later case the coil must always be completely immersed in the liquid. The maximum attainable pressure in the coil is 3.0 bar g. It is mostly available in the range of 0.4 to 0.6 square meter heat transfer area.

HCl absorption columns are used for absorption of Hydrochloric acid gas which are not permitted to vent in the atmosphere, and to produce the Hydrochloric acid.
